BETA COHORT · UP TO 30 LEARNERS · 1-MONTH JOURNEY
Master Analytical Thinking with Power BI
Learn Power BI from the ground up while building the thinking skills to understand data, create dashboards, and solve business questions.
You don't need any prior Power BI experience to join. The program teaches the tool from the ground up and uses Power BI as an environment to train your analytical thinking: knowing where to start, what to analyze, and how to use data to reach a valuable answer.
Whether you're starting from zero or already know a few techniques, you'll be guided through understanding context, defining questions, choosing metrics, analyzing data, and turning results into a complete dashboard or analysis report.
Learning Power BI should start with both the tool and the way you think
Beginners need a roadmap that helps them understand Power BI and build the right working habits from day one. Those who already know how to import data, create relationships, or write measures often run into harder questions when handed a new dataset:
What does the business actually need to understand or decide?
Who is this dashboard for, and in what context will they use it?
Which metrics, dimensions, and benchmarks should be analyzed?
How do you go from an unusual pattern to a cause, an insight, and an action?
THE SOLUTION
The program serves both starting points through four stages: understanding data, building an analytical product, solving a business problem, and owning a complete project.
Whether you're starting from zero or already know a few techniques, you'll be guided through understanding context, defining questions, choosing metrics, analyzing data, and turning results into a complete dashboard or analysis report.
Who is this program for?
Complete beginners
You've never used Power BI and want to learn the tool and analytical thinking through a structured roadmap.
Career switchers moving into data
You're learning or switching into a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or other data-facing role.
People with basic Power BI knowledge
You've already learned Power BI but still struggle to decide what to analyze and how to present it.
People who need to raise their product quality
You can build a dashboard, but it still lacks analytical logic or isn't polished enough for a portfolio.
People who work with data in business
You work in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, or another business function and want to use data better.
This program will not be a good fit if:
You're only looking for a click-by-click Power BI video tutorial series
You want to learn advanced DAX as a standalone topic
You need an academically-oriented statistics program
What can you do after the program?
Step into a new domain and know how to learn its business, process, data, and key metrics.
Build a complete, visual dashboard with sound analytical logic.
Read, question, and evaluate dashboards more proactively.
Turn a vague business question into a clear analytical problem.
Complete a project tied to a target JD or your current job.
What will you create?
The outputs build on one another, instead of being four separate, disconnected assignments:
My Business & Data Context Report
Helps you understand the domain, process, data, and metrics tied to your target JD or current job.
Professional Analytical Dashboard and Business Analysis Report
The two main hands-on products from Module 2 and Module 3.
Personalized Capstone Project
Developed from one of the two main products, then refined to match your career direction.
Learning path: Understand → Build → Solve → Own
4 modules + a Capstone, each stage building on the last, from understanding data to owning an analytical product.
Understand Data
Understand data before you start analyzing it
The first module helps you see the full picture:
Business → Process → Data → Modeling → Analysis → Dashboard/Report → Decision
- ▸
The big picture of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence.
- ▸
How data is created, collected, stored, and transformed inside a business.
- ▸
Where Power BI fits into the overall data workflow.
- ▸
Essential statistics foundations for reading and interpreting numbers correctly.
- ▸
Core analytical vocabulary: Metric, KPI, Dimension, Grain, Benchmark, Trend, Segment, Finding, and Insight.
You're also given an AI Skill to research a target JD or your current job: business model, process, source data, metrics, and the analytical questions you might face.
You don't need to know every industry in advance. You need to know how to step into a new industry and understand its data.
Build with Data
Build a dashboard as a data product
A good dashboard needs to meet three criteria at once:
User → Problem → Decision → Business Questions → Metrics → Analysis → Information Architecture → Visualization → Power BI → Validate
USEFUL
The dashboard answers the right question for the right user and supports a clear monitoring, analysis, or decision-making need.
USABLE
Information has a clear hierarchy, is easy to read, easy to navigate, and helps users explore the data through a logical analytical flow.
DESIRABLE
The dashboard is polished, professional, and good enough to use at work or in a portfolio.
Instead of starting from a dataset and picking a few familiar charts, you'll go through a process:
- ▸
Data understanding, cleaning, and modeling.
- ▸
DAX, from foundational calculations to the analyses your project needs.
- ▸
How to choose a chart based on the question and the nature of the data.
- ▸
Data visualization best practices.
- ▸
Dashboard UI/UX, visual hierarchy, and layout.
- ▸
Tooltips, drill-through, parameters, bookmarks, filters, and navigation.
- ▸
Dashboard automation, publishing, and how to put a product into real use.
- ▸
How to gather feedback, validate, and improve a dashboard.
Throughout the module, you keep checking six factors: who uses the dashboard, what decision it supports, what the user needs to know, how they'll read the information, how the dashboard is deployed, and whether the product actually creates value.
You move from someone who knows how to drag and drop in Power BI to someone who understands why a dashboard needs certain information, how to present it, and how users will actually use it.
Solve with Data
Use data to clarify a vague business question
In this module, you're no longer told which chart to draw. You're given a business problem and decide for yourself what needs to be analyzed.
You'll go through a 6-step business analysis process:
For example, when the return rate rises sharply starting in July, the goal isn't just to describe the trend. You need to determine where the increase is concentrated, when it started, which groups it affects, which hypotheses could explain it, and how strong the existing evidence is.
Step 1. Clarify the problem
You identify the context, stakeholders, goal, and decision to support, turning a broad question into a clear problem statement.
Step 2. Build analytical logic and add business sense
You break down the problem, build an analytical framework, and identify the business factors that could affect the result, so the analysis has direction.
Step 3. Turn business thinking into data questions
You pinpoint the right data to look for using four layers of questions: What do you need to know? → Why do you need to know it? → What then? → How is it measured?
Step 4. Descriptive & Diagnostic Analysis
You combine descriptive analysis to determine what happened, where, and which groups it affected, then use diagnostic analysis, metric breakdowns, and hypothesis testing to narrow down and test possible causes.
Step 5. Develop a business recommendation
You turn findings into insight, assess impact, feasibility, and the limits of the evidence before proposing what the business should do and where to prioritize.
Step 6. Data Storytelling & Business Presentation
You select and arrange findings into a logical analytical story, then turn it into a business presentation with a headline, executive summary, evidence, insight, and recommendation so stakeholders can quickly understand the results and know the next step.
You move from someone who can operate data to someone who can structure a business question, find the right data, run the analysis, and communicate results to support a decision.
Own Your Analysis
Own the entire analytical process in a project of your own
The Capstone connects the whole journey of the program:
Target JD or current job → Domain → Business Context → Dataset → Business Problem → Analysis → Dashboard or Analysis Report
- ▸
You choose a domain and problem that fits your career direction or current job, then own the entire analytical process to create a project with your own personal mark.
Learn by building real products
The program runs as e-learning, split into clearly defined sessions. In each session, you know exactly what to learn, which exercises to complete, and what output to produce before moving on.
Each cohort has a maximum of 30 learners. Over your one-month journey, you get close progress tracking and 1:1 support to keep your learning pace, finish exercises, and reach the end of the program.
Throughout the course, AI is used to support research, expand context, and speed up certain steps. You remain the one asking the questions, evaluating the output, making decisions, and taking responsibility for the final analytical logic.
After finishing the Capstone, you get a 1:1 review session with Julie to receive direct feedback on your analytical logic, product quality, and next steps to refine it.
What makes Master Analytical Thinking with Power BI different
Power BI is the vehicle for training analytical thinking
You still learn all the technical foundations needed to build a product. But every action is tied to a clear question: what analytical need does it serve?
Dashboards are approached as a product
You learn to balance usefulness, reading experience, and presentation quality. This mindset gives your dashboard a real chance of being used, not just looking good in a screenshot.
Your project is personalized to your own direction
Shared core knowledge is applied to the domain you care about, so your final product better reflects your own ability and career direction.
What this program does not promise
The program does not guarantee you'll become a great analyst after just a few sessions, or land a job through a single project. You're given the environment and process to train your thinking, work with data, build products, and solve problems; the quality of your results still depends on how much you practice, how you receive feedback, and how far you refine your project.
WHY IS THIS A BETA COHORT?
This is the first Beta cohort of Master Analytical Thinking with Power BI.
